bento quickies

so I'm trying to see how quick I can do a bento because I don't have hours and hours to do them but I do want to make fun bentos for my kids. So I tried to go simpler with this one, I did 2 in 20 minutes. Not too bad. The second one, with the fish hot dogs took about 30 minutes.

Hi! I'm a friend of RR and he gave me your blog address. I am sending my 22mo old twin girls off to daycare tomorrow and have been looking for a way to prepare lunches for them. I love your bentos. What a perfect idea. Where do you get the boxes?

Those are called Laptop Lunchboxes. I think you can get them from amazon or from the laptop lunch site. I don't love them so much for bentos though because the boxes are supposed to be carried in a laptop like bag so all the food ends up sideways. I'm a nut for carrying them so the food stays upright, I'm sure my kids teachers think I'm a total kook. ebay has some great thermal bento boxes that are very adorable and the food stays upright. When my lunchboxes get thrashed enough I'm planning on getting some of those. Good luck with the twins!

Thanks! I ended up getting some from the Japanese Market Mitsuwa. Check out what you inspired me to do, www.familyoffood.blogspot.com .
I think I am hooked now.
